Transformation through healing
Welcome to Progress Not Perfection. I look forward to working with you. First, let me share some of my background and experience with you. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Xavier University (Cincinnati, OH), a Paralegal Certificate from Roosevelt University (Chicago, IL), a Certificate in Divorce Mediation (Chicago, IL), and Masters in Counseling Psychology from North Park University (Chicago, IL). Prior to entering the counseling field, I worked as a paralegal specializing in family law and estate planning.
I worked in the addiction field for several years before going into private practice. I ran Intensive Outpatient Programs and taught DUI education classes. I provided individual counseling and assisted clients through the process of satisfying their court requirements.
In private practice, I have expanded my areas of expertise to better address the trauma that I saw underlying the manifestation of unhealthy coping strategies like substance use. Using therapeutic models such as EMDR and IFS, I have found that trauma can be healed and relationships can be mended.
I utilize a very collaborative style of counseling, providing a safe space for processing and healing. We are in this together.
